Released in the late ’70s as a response to high-quality, low-priced guitars being imported by competitors, the Fender Lead II had a great new look and sound.

Designed and built in Fender’s legendary Fullerton, California factory, the Fender Lead II featured a new body design, hard-tail bridge and unique, new wiring options.

Now, in tribute to the original ’70s model, the Fender Player Lead II features dual-slanted Player series pickups, dual toggle switches and the unique Lead double-cutaway shape.
Made in Fender’s Ensenada, Mexico factory, the Fender Player Lead II offers incredible performance at a great value price.

The unique body shape of the Fender Player II is comfortably ergonomic and its double cutaway design allows for easy reach of the higher frets.

A smooth, satin finished maple neck is attached and features a modern “C” profile for added playing comfort.

Atop the neck is a 9.5″ radius maple fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets for all-around playability.

One of the greatest features of the Fender Player Lead II is its unique electronics.
