The Zildjian KR22R 22″ Kerope Ride cymbal gives you the same darkness, complexity, and feel of vintage K cymbals of the ’50s and ’60s.
The Zildjian family welcomes its newest member – the Kerope series of cymbals.
For almost 400 years, Zildjian has been developing and refining their manufacturing process to give each handcrafted cymbal consistent tone, playability, and finish. Made of cast bronze, each cymbal is individually weighed and has its gram weight handwritten under the bell.
These hand crafted cymbals look as they sound dark, and complex. Made from a secret alloy (comprised of copper, tin, and traces of silver), this Zildjian Kerope was individually cast and shaped via a complex sequence of heating, rolling, shaping, hammering, and lathing. It’s painstaking techniques and traditional methods like this that give each Zildjian Kerope its unique tone and broad range of expression. Cast bronze cymbals such as the Kerope present you with a rich, full-bodied sound that only improves with age. They also provide you with exceptional projection, clarity, and durability that far outstrips most other cymbals.
The Kerope line draws from Zildjian’s rich history and cymbal making expertise to bring forth the most authentic vintage K recreation to date. These hand crafted cymbals look as they sound – dark, and complex. Named in honor of Kerope Zildjian, who presided over one of the most storied periods in Zildjian history, each cymbal is meticulously hand crafted using a 14-step process that encompasses the best of everything we have learned in 390 years of cymbal making.
